A general idea of how the day will be run
Donkey Days

Have you ever wanted to spend a day amongst donkeys? Do you want to try your hand at grooming a Poitou or picking out the feet of a Mini? Find out at one of our Donkey Days, when you will help out with our rare breed donkeys, large and small. A rare experience in every sense.

The day will start with a introductory talk followed by a farm walk, when you will meet all our donkeys, both large and small. We will explain all about our donkey management and tell you what works and what doesn't. You will be able to get as close to the donkeys as you want, which can be quite exciting if you are in a field of Poitous. Don't worry, this isn't obligatory.

After a picnic lunch (please bring your own) and a cup of tea or coffee you will then meet your donkey. You will learn how to catch your donkey and put on a head-collar, you will be taught how to feed, groom and even muck out donkeys. You may even get to see the farrier at work, and he will explain all about trimming a donkeys hooves. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and get lots of 'hands-on' experience with donkeys.

We will take photos of you with your donkey and you will be given a Rare Experience Certificate to show you have completed our special day.

There will be a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 10 people per day. Children over 10 are welcome, provided they are with an adult. We will use a mixture of Poitou and Mini donkeys each day.

Please wear old clothes and sensible shoes or boots.

Please book early by phoning 01590 626224 or

Cost is £100 per person per day.
